Opportunities exist everywhere. The question is: are your eyes open to new ideas and opportunities?
Recently, my wife and I purchased a new property as an investment. A day after signing the contracts, we received a call from the agent’s ‘concierge’ department offering us landlord insurance on the property.
They had made their commission on the sale, but now they have very wisely partnered with a global insurance brand to offer insurance. What perfect timing. They have the database of the new buyers, they know they will be in the market for insurance, and so they are the first ones to offer it.
This is just one example of being on the lookout for either opportunities that exist within your own business, or to go and source new opportunities further afield.
Even though we are in the middle of Covid and we don’t know exactly what the future holds, God does. As the world becomes more and more digital, there are opportunities like never before. You can even sell your products on sites like Shopify and Amazon, without the need to open your own store or spend tens of thousands of dollars on web development.
You can take your knowledge and start a business in coaching or online courses. There are experts who, for a small fee, will show you how to set up your own online coaching business. The opportunities the Internet is throwing up are absolutely endless.
For me, I pray daily that God would open my eyes to new opportunities. I want to do Christian media like it has never been done before. I have ideas and strategies for the months and years to come that will create a remarkable, world-renowned Christian company. But I desperately need God’s help.
For me, it is not about trying to make more money; it is about trying to do something impossible with God, which will also help stretch His name further around the globe.
For you, it might be the cold hard reality that you need new ideas to keep the income coming in faster than it goes out. or it might be that what you’re doing isn’t working like it used to. Maybe you’re looking for an opportunity to get out of your job and into your own business.
I want to encourage you that the God who created the brains of people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs and so on is the same God who is your Heavenly Father. He has plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Your challenge might be setting aside the time to hear His voice.
God tells us that if we pray for wisdom, we will receive it. Similarly, if we pray for God to open our eyes up to new ideas and opportunities, anything is possible.
